Libbet was engaged by KiwiRail to undertake the restoration of the former Newmarket station building, which now sits proudly on its new site in Parnell.

Libbet and its subcontracted specialists worked closely with KiwiRail, and their Architects, to ensure the building retained as many original features as possible whilst still being fit for its new purpose as the Parnell Railway Station Building.

Key Challenges:​​

• Preserving as much of the 1908 heritage building as possible

• Working adjacent to the operational railway and live overhead wires
