Pedestrian Level Crossing Upgrades

As part of Auckland Transport and KiwiRail’s Level Crossing Safety Improvements, Libbet have undertaken the civils component of works to install automatic swing gates at a total of eleven level crossings in Auckland.

The scope of works undertaken by Libbet consists of trenching and installation of cable routes (including construction of Under Road Ducted Crossings), concrete and asphalt walkways, retaining walls, signalling equipment bases and fencing.

A key challenge in these projects is ensuring we work safely and effectively in close proximity to the live rail corridor, road vehicles as well as pedestrians which involves arranging Rail Protection and Traffic Management as required for each site.
