Electronic Ticketing Gates

As part of Auckland Transport’s station improvements Libbet was engaged to deliver the civils works for the new electronic ticketing gates at Manuwera and Papatoetoe Stations. Scope of works include ducting, pile foundations, concrete foundations, drainage, asphalt surfacing and fencing.

A key challenge in these projects is working within the tight constraints of the station platforms either within short access windows or while trains are running.

Some of the methods used by Libbet to ensure successful completion included maximising the use of pre-cast concrete elements instead of in-situ concrete and using a series of conveyor belts to remove spoil from the platform underneath the live overhead wires.
